Happy October from your Laureate Park PTA. This month is full of exciting events, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support our amazing school. Here is what’s coming up:

10/1 Rock Your School

Order forms were sent home or you can order online
10/8 Walk to School Day
10/8 Boosterthon kicks off in school
10/10 End of First Marking Period
10/13 No School
10/14- 10/17 National Hispanic Heritage Month Spirit Week
10/14 Wear a hat or flower crown
10/15 Wear neon colors
10/16 Wear your country’s traditional clothing or the colors of your flag
10/17 Wear your school appropriate pajamas
10/17 – Boosterthon Fun Run
10/27- 10/31-- Red Ribbon Week
10/27 Wear your favorite team jersey
10/28 Bring a stuffie to school to hug
10/29 Wacky hair
10/30 Wear your red ribbon week t-shirt
10/31 Storybook character dress up
10/31 – Spirit Cart + Spirit Day
10/31 Author Visit
1st and 2nd grade students will get the chance to participate in an SSYRA author visit from Rekha Rejan.

🏃 Boosterthon Fun Run
What is it? Boosterthon is our largest PTA fundraiser of the year, helping raise money that goes directly back to our school for accessible enrichment experiences, classroom-based tools, inclusive supplies, and community-building events based on input from families and educators. Register today at mybooster.com. The kickoff in school begins on 10/8. The event wraps up on 10/17 with a high-energy Fun Run that all students participate in and look forward to each year!

We have THREE incredible opportunities where you can make a difference AND have fun:
🛒 SPIRIT CART (Oct 31, Nov 21, Dec 19)
Watch kids’ faces light up as they “shop” with their Longhorn Bucks! Pure joy! ✨
🏃 BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN (Oct 7-20)
Our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year! High energy, happy kids, amazing community vibes! 🎉
🎨 HOLIDAY ART PROJECT (Nov 17-21)
Paint alongside YOUR child during art class and watch masterpieces come to life! 🖌️
Remember: Check grade levels for Boosterthon & Art Project + complete your volunteer application!

Teachers’ Corner 🍎
A big round of applause to Ms. Ong and Ms. Christian! Both classes reached 100% parent survey participation, earning an extra $25 toward their Back to School teacher grants. Thank you to all the families who helped support their classrooms!
